The World Ocean Council partnered with the City and the Port of Barcelona to develop a global Blue Economy hub. With its new headquarters in Barcelona, the World Ocean Council hosted two high-impact ocean events in the city: the much anticipated return of the Sustainable Ocean Summit (17-18 October), followed by the launch of the Global Blue Finance Summit (19 October).
Sustainable Ocean Summit – SOS 2022
World Ocean Council’s flagship event since 2010, the Sustainable Ocean Summit is the must-attend business gathering focused on private sector collaboration for sustainable ocean economies. The summit draws C-suite representatives from shipping, ports, fisheries, aquaculture, offshore energy, tourism, marine technology, finance, and more.
Global Blue Finance Summit – BlueFIN 2022
Organized by the World Ocean Council (WOC), the Global Blue Finance Summit is set to launch as the leading conference on ocean investment and finance. SOS 2019, which explored the theme of Investing in Ocean Futures: Finance and Innovation for the Blue Economy, gave rise to BlueFIN. It was the most comprehensive global blue finance event organized to date.
OCEANOVATION MEETUP x Barcelona
Following SOS and BlueFIN 2022, the OCEANOVATION MEETUP x Barcelona, hosted by our Key Strategic Partner Impact2day, took place at the Valkiria Hub Space in Barcelona. The OCEANOVATION MEETUP SERIES is a thoroughly interactive experience designed for ocean sustainability start-ups. Attendees connect with peers, learn from experts, and partner with investors.
WOC’s flagship Sustainable Ocean Summit, along with our new BlueFIN summit, drew industry leaders and market movers from across sectors and around the world. Attendees included C-suite representatives from shipping, ports, fisheries, offshore energy, tourism, finance, and more. Join high-level ocean stakeholders from government, the private sector and civil society as we shape the future of a sustainable ocean economy.
SOS and BlueFIN are about gathering the energy and expertise of ocean sectors in one place, to build the roadmap, share insights, and make critical connections. It’s where market leaders meet and turn ideas into real-world innovations. Bring your organization into the spotlight at SOS or BlueFIN 2023.
