SOS 2019 participants will benefit from a special briefing on the “Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate” (SROCC) very recently released by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Dr Hans-Otto Poertner, IPCC SROCC Senior Co-Author, will present the results of the report to the ocean business and investment community gathered at the annual WOC Sustainable Ocean Summit (SOS) 2019 (20-22 November, Paris).
The IPCC Special Ocean and Cryosphere Report synthesizes the best and most recent science on the ocean, ice covered areas and climate change. The SROCC highlights the importance of prioritizing timely, ambitious and coordinated action to address ocean and cryosphere change, and outlines the benefits of ambitious and effective adaptation for sustainable development and the escalating costs and risks of delayed action.
